Meet the Mass NOW Board of Directors!

We are over a dozen people of all genders, generations, regions of the Commonwealth and walks of life. We've been rapidly reforming our advocacy strategy since the COVID crisis unfolded. We are doing what we do best: convening and educating our feminist community, advocating for feminist policy & working to elect feminist candidates for office.

We need you to help us build feminist power in Massachusetts and the country!

Join us Monday, May 4th 6PM for our first ever Consciousness Raising Training to learn about our legislative agenda and how you can convene your community to take action. There are lots of ways that you can join our team of feminist organizers. Sign up to become a Consciousness Raising Host, join the Mass NOW PAC, Membership Committee or Fundraising Committee on our website.

In the meantime, tune in Fridays at 4pm for Feminist Happy Hour and stay tuned for more webinars in partnership with NOW chapters across the country.

Victory: MA Passes a Moratorium on Evictions & Foreclosures

Earlier this month, we asked you to contact your state lawmakers and demand they pass a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures. Your advocacy worked: this week,Governor Baker signed this moratorium into law, protecting renters and homeowners during the pandemic.

But we’re not done fighting to ensure an equitable response to COVID-19. That’s why Mass NOW is joining the Emergency Task Force on Coronavirus & Equity, so we can work in coalition to push for emergency paid sick time, safe access to testing and treatment for immigrants, and other just, people-centered policy solutions.

Please join us in advocating for HD 5039: This newly-filed legislation would provide 10 additional work days of paid sick time to the 1.8 million Bay State workers not covered by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act’s sick time provisions. Contact your legislators and let them know that you support emergency paid sick leave!

NOW takes Action on Abortion and

Announces Plan to Flip the Senate

Last week Mass NOW joined forces with Florida NOW to bring together NOW members & leaders across the country in a webinar on self-managed abortion using pills, accessing abortion pills via telehealth and the ongoing campaign to lift the FDA restrictions on medication abortion.  Please sign this petition to Decriminalize Self-Managed andSupported Non-Clinical Abortion!

This week the National Organization for Women Foundation joined a historic coalition of reproductive justice groups to file an amicus brief supporting the federal district court’s decision to prevent Alabama’s COVID-19 order from resulting in the denial of abortion access and the potential criminalization of abortion providers.

And there's more! Yesterday, the NOW PAC released its initial slate of endorsements, announcing support for 136 feminist candidates in 30 states to flip the Senate and keep the House. It includes seven Senate candidates hoping to join the Senate and nine Senate incumbents, as well as 23 House candidates looking to unseat incumbents or win an open seat, plus 99 House incumbents. Join our team of feminist organizers today!
