Last day to get early bird tickets to the 11th annual Feminist Affair!
Dear Mass NOW,
Last week we brought together over 50 menstrual activists at our first ever Back to School Rally to End period poverty! Young people from around the Commonwealth came together and made this event possible.
The MA Menstrual Equity Coalition is hard at work this fall working with shelters and homeless menstruators to understand the state of menstrual access and urge Governor Baker to release the $500,000 allocated for menstrual products in shelters! If you haven't already, join hundreds of activists in telling your legislators to prioritize period poverty in the pandemic recovery plan!
In the last six months alone we've seen the strongest anti-abortion laws and voter restriction laws passed around the country. We know you understand that the work of Mass NOW is even more critical as the landscape for gender equity grows more grim nationwide. This year, Mass NOW has:
Passed period policy statewide for the first time in Massachusetts history
Grown the MA Menstrual Equity Coalition to include 70+ endorsing organizations and 200+ activists, elevating period poverty in the media, submitting over 200 letters to legislators in support of the I AM bill
Co-hosted three Mayoral Forums in a historic Primary Election
Co-chaired the Boston-Area International Women’s Day Celebration
Recruited over 100+ new members and so much more.
Throughout the pandemic, our hard-working board members and volunteers are continuing the important work of Mass NOW day in and day out. We need your support today to help us strengthen our organization statewide and hire staff to bring Mass NOW to a new level.
Today is the last day to get your early-bird tickets to the Feminist Affair! Join our vibrant feminist community as we celebrate our recent successes and honor a group of dynamic changemakers in Massachusetts and beyond. State Representative Liz Miranda and Boston City Councilor Julia Mejia will be joining us as featured speakers. Given that we were unable to hold this annual event last year, we are excited to be awarding two Feminist in Action Awardees this year; Executive Director of the Transgender Emergency Fund, Chastity Bowick and Founding Director of Love Your Menses, Bria Gadsen.
