Founded in 2019, the Massachusetts Menstrual Equity Coalition unites activists and organizations dedicated to ending period poverty across the state. Today, our coalition has grown to over 400 activists working together to advance menstrual equity through research, policy advocacy, product distribution, education, and cultural change.

In 2019 our State of Menstrual Access Survey revealed that a quarter of shelters don’t have products at all and nearly half rely on donations. We don’t rely on volunteers for basic goods like toilet paper, but without state funding for menstrual products, tens of thousands of people across the Commonwealth depend on donations for their menstrual care.
